- Approximately 13,000 people die per year due to driving accidents associated with alcohol.
- According to U.S. drunk driving and alcohol statistics, in 2001, more than half a million people were injured in crashes where police reported that alcohol was present. This is an average of one individual injured roughly every two minutes in an alcohol related accident.
- Many different medical based studies related to alcohol have reported that women absorb and metabolize alcohol much differently than men; thus rendering women more vulnerable than men to alcohol-induced liver, heart and brain damage.
